[HAVANA  SOCIAL DIRECTORY 1959]
DIRECTORIO SOCIAL DE LA HABANA 1959

The 1959 Havana Social Directory was actually published in 1958 because it does not list Fidel Castro as head of state, or any of his appointees. (Batista fled Cuba in the early morning hours of Jan 1, 1959)  There is no explanation for having a name included in this Directory.   The Senators, Representatives and Justices, as a whole, are not listed within the main listings, only selected names.  On the other hand, the Anglo-American Directory 1960 states that the listings are contained within their publication for a fee of $3.50, therefore that Directory is listed in the Cuban Information Archives in total.

From this Directory only the following general listings have been transcribed:

Executive Branch of Government  President -- Agencies
Legislative Branch of Government -- Senate, Congress
Judicial Branch of Government -- Courts, Judges, Prosecutors, etc.
Diplomatic Corps – United States
Diplomatic Corps – All other Embassies and Consuls
Persons with Titles of Nobility
Churches, Parochial Schools, Orphanages, etc.
National Association of Large Land Owners of Cuba
